Project Overview:
During the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, Upasana Society NGO initiated the MissionRotiDaan campaign on May 31, 2020, with the aim of providing essential sustenance and support to migrants affected by the pandemic. The project successfully collected 5800 freshly made Rotis from individuals residing in societies located in Kandivali, Borivali, and Dahisar. Additionally, freshly prepared and packed mixed vegetables were gathered to complement the Roti donations.
Project Objectives:
- To offer immediate assistance to migrants returning to their hometowns due to COVID-19 restrictions.
- To provide freshly prepared and nutritious meals for their journey.
- To ensure the safety of donors, volunteers, and recipients by adhering to essential health precautions.
- To source packed water donations for migrants.
Project Achievements:
- Collected a total of 5800 freshly made Rotis.
- Gathered freshly prepared and packed mixed vegetables.
- Distributed food packages to migrants to support them during their journey.
- Implemented stringent health precautions to ensure safety.
Safety Measures Implemented:
- Volunteers wore personal protective equipment (PPE) for food handling and distribution.
- Sanitization and hygiene protocols were rigorously followed.
- Social distancing measures were maintained throughout the collection and distribution process.
Donations:
In addition to the food items, generous donors contributed by providing packed water to aid the migrants on their journey, showcasing the collective spirit of compassion and solidarity.
