A Step Towards Breaking Stigma: Xavier’s College Conducts Co-ed #PeriodCupCause Session to Promote Menstrual Hygiene and Sustainability
Menstruation remains a taboo topic in many parts of the world, and as a result, many girls and women face challenges in managing their menstrual hygiene. To break the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions, a #PeriodCupCause awareness session was conducted for students at Xavier’s College in Mumbai.
What made this session unique was that it was a co-ed session, which allowed both boys and girls to participate and learn about menstrual hygiene together. The session aimed to create awareness about menstrual cups as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional menstrual products like pads and tampons. The students were shown how to use menstrual cups and given tips on how to maintain proper menstrual hygiene.
The open discussion and Q&A session allowed students to ask questions and share their experiences, which helped to break down the stigma surrounding menstruation. Thanks to the generous donations from supporters of #PeriodCupCause, the students were gifted with menstrual cups at the end of the session. The students appreciated the gesture and expressed their gratitude for being provided with a sustainable and cost-effective menstrual hygiene solution.
The #PeriodCupCause awareness session was a great success and served as an opportunity to empower both boys and girls with knowledge and understanding of menstrual hygiene. The session not only provided the students with menstrual cups but also encouraged them to break the taboo surrounding menstruation and to become advocates for menstrual hygiene.
