Join us this Lord Ganpati Festival in a heartwarming initiative by Upasana Society NGO, as we embark on the Sui Dhaga Aur Kapda Campaign 2023. Our goal is to donate 5000+ kgs of clothes and empower individuals from various underprivileged backgrounds in Mumbai and its vicinity.
About the Campaign:
The Sui Dhaga Aur Kapda Campaign is an ongoing effort to make a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate. We invite residents of Mumbai to participate in this noble cause by donating used clothes that are washed, ironed, and thoughtfully segregated. This initiative aims to uplift the marginalized communities in and around Mumbai by providing them with essential clothing items.
How to Contribute:
To streamline our collection process and save on logistical costs, we will be collecting clothes exclusively from societies in Borivali, Dahisar, and Kandivali. Here’s how you can participate:
- Inform Your Society: A few dedicated individuals from each society can take charge of spreading the word about the campaign. Use your society’s WhatsApp groups or word of mouth to inform fellow members about the initiative.
- Collect Clothes: Residents can then come together to gather used clothes that meet our criteria – clean, ironed, and well-segregated. This can be done in your society’s office or a designated common storage area.
- Update Us: The volunteers from your society can keep us informed about the progress of the collection. Once a substantial amount of clothes and funds for sewing machines are collected, we’ll arrange for transportation to ensure the items reach those in need.
